In the
domestic market, Maruti Suzuki a recorded total sales of 152,000 units and a growth of 26.7%. Surprisingly, the new Dzire
emerged as the major sales contributor with a record sales of 30,934 units in August 2017. The compact
sedan surpassed the Alto, Baleno, Swift and Vitara Brezza.

In the list
of top 10 selling cars of August 2017, Maruti Suzuki acquired seven spots and
three spots have been grabbed by Hyundai. No other car manufacturer managed to
make to the list. At the top of the list we have the new-generation Maruti
Suzuki Dzire, which is followed by the car maker's popular hatchback – Alto with
21,521 units. The third and fourth spots
were also taken by Maruti’s Baleno and Vitara Brezza compact SUV respectively.
