Mahindra has confirmed that in about six month’s time, the KUV100 NXT will also be available with an AMT (automated manual transmission). The same will be coupled with diesel and petrol engines. Moreover, the company is also working towards an electric variant of the hatchback. The emission-free version of electric variant is expected to launch in 2019.

The Mahindra KUV100 NXT was recently launched at price of Rs 4.39 Lake (ex-showroom). It is the mid-cycle update/face-lift model of the KUV100, which was launched in January 2016. Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car-maker is all set to launch the Suzuki S-Cross face-lift in the country. It was speculated that the new S-Cross face-lift will get a new petrol engine. However, new media reports suggest that the crossover will be the third MSI product in India to feature Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid system. Adding to it, the car will miss out on top-end 1.6-litre diesel engine. It will only come with a 1.3-litre MJD diesel engine coupled to a SHVS mild hybrid system.

S-Cross

A price of the new s-cross is starting at 8.49 lakes to 11.29 lakes.

The mileage of new S-Cross diesel variants is 23.65 Kmpl.

The petrol engine in question is expected to be a new 1.5-litre M15 engine. This engine is capable of producing 100bhp of power at 5,900rpm and 133Nm of torque at 4,100rpm. Transmission options of S-Cross for this engine are likely to include a 5-speed manual and a new automatic gearbox. It is expected that the same engine will also be offered with the Ciaz facelift, which is scheduled to be launched in 2018.

The S-Cross facelift for Indian market is expected to share design and styling cues from the European-spec model. Upfront in new S-Cross is a newly designed radiator grille with chrome finished vertical slats, projector headlamps with LED DRLs and a new grille with stretched lower grille with wider air-dam. Other design of new S-Cross highlights include new diamond cut alloy wheels, new rear bumper, re-designed LED rear combination lamps, etc. The cabin of new S-Cross will be equipped with a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, and Mirror link connectivity.

Renault recently confirmed launching Renault Captur crossover in India sometime this year. While the company already offers Duster in India, the Captur crossover will be slightly Premium and will be slotted above its smaller sibling in Renault’s line-up.

Keeping safety at fore, Renault will equip Captur with prominent bits including dual front airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX system and seat belt with Pretension. The India-bound model was recently crash tested by Latin NCAP where it scored an impressive 4-star rating. As for its launch, expect it to make official debut during the festive season.

The crossover was earlier rumored to launch in August, but resting all the speculations, Renault made an official announcement to launch the model sometime this year. While it made no hint around the exact launch time, we expect the crossover to break covers during the festive season this year that is sometime between October and November 2017.

The Russian-spec Captur comes in two engine options-1.6-litre and 2.0-litre, however, the India-bound model will share engines with Duster. To be available in petrol and diesel fuel options, the model will use the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre K9K oil burner from Duster. The 1.5-litre H4K petrol engine powering the Duster facelift is essentially a stripped-down version of the 1.6-litre unit which earlier powered Duster. In terms of power, the new 1.5-litre unit makes 104.5bhp at 5,600rpm against peak torque of 142Nm at 4,000rpm. This engine is expected to come with a five-speed manual gearbox that will transmit the power to the front wheels. In addition, there will be a 6-speed CVT step less transmission that could be optional. The 1.5-litre K9K oil burner on the other hand is available in two tunes on the Duster line-up including the 84bhp and 108bhp. We believe Renault will tweak both the engines to offer more power and as for the diesel unit, Captur could get the 108bhp version with 245Nm torque. Drive-train options will include an AWD system with locking differential and three driving modes-Lock, Auto and 2WD. Transmission duties on the diesel unit are likely to be carried over by the 6-speed manual unit and an AMT gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki India today introduced a new sporty version of its popular C-segment sedan Ciaz at a starting price of ₹ 9.39 Lake (ex-showroom). Christened Maruti Suzuki Ciaz S, the car comes with a bunch of new cosmetic updates which include a new sporty body kit, premium interior and a large trunk-lid spoiler. The new Ciaz S is available in both petrol and diesel options and the latter are priced at ₹ 11.55 Lake.

The new Maruti Ciaz S is based on the Alpha trim and gets all the features offered in the top-specification variant. This means the new car comes with new features like a touch-screen infotainment system with Apple Car-Play and Android Auto, automatic climate control, cruise control and much more. The Ciaz S, in particular, comes with new stylish all-black interiors with leather upholstery and chrome accents for the cabin. Safety features include in - dual airbags, seat belt pre-tensioner with force limiter, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX (child seat restraint system).

The 1.4 L Petrol and 1.3 L Diesel engines from the regular have been carried over unchanged to the Ciaz S variant. There is no diesel automatic variant on offer. A 5-speed manual transmission is a standard across the range. There have been rumors suggesting the Ciaz will receive the S-Cross’ 1.6 L Diesel as well. However, there is no official word on that yet. Thanks to Suzuki’s mild hybrid tech, the Ciaz SHVS diesel returns 28.09 KMPL overall making it the most fuel-efficient car in the country. It also helps the Ciaz avail tax benefits under the Government’s FAME initiative that promotes Hybrid and electric cars.

Thanks to the SHVS mini hybrid system, the Ciaz Diesel becomes one of the most frugal cars in the entire country. It has a mileage of 28.09 KMPL. Even the petrol model offers a decent fuel mileage of 20.73 KMPL.
